Nihongo Pro Terms of Use

Thanks for purchasing Nihongo Pro!

Nihongo Pro unlocks a number of features in addition to the basic dictionary features that are free in Nihongo. As long as you have an active subscription, these features will remain unlocked.

Subscription Expiration

In general, any content you make while you are subscribed to Nihongo Pro will continue to be available to you when your subscription ends, but you will not be able to create new content, or continue to access restricted content.

More specifically,

Flashcards

• Any flashcard decks you create will still be available to view and edit after your subscription ends, but you will not be able to study them using the “Learn” or “Practice” features.
• You will still be able to use the “Review” feature once your subscription ends, with any cards that have already been “learned”.

Clippings

• Any clippings you have already created will still be available to view after your subscription ends, but you will not be able to edit them.
• You will be unable to create new clippings after your subscription ends.

Lifetime Subscription

If you choose to purchase a lifetime subscription to Nihongo, first off, thank you! 🙏

My intention with the lifetime subscription is to give you all the same benefits that a regular subscription to Nihongo Pro entails. A few things that are important to understand:

• As I continue to develop Nihongo, I will periodically drop support for old versions of iOS. It’s possible that your device will no longer be supported. If this happens, you can continue to use the version of Nihongo and its features that are available on your device, but I will not be back-porting new features to older versions of iOS.
• Your subscription entitles you to all the features that are currently available at the time of your purchase. Although I have every intention to make new Nihongo Pro features available to lifetime subscribers, it’s possible that there will be features in the future that will require separate purchases.
• A lifetime subscription means the lifetime of the app. If the app is ever removed from the App Store for any reason, your subscription will end, and you are not entitled to a refund.
• I cannot guarantee that features that require connecting to external servers (such as text recognition in images) will be available forever. I will do my best to continue making these features available for the lifetime of the app, but I reserve the right to disable these features in the future.
• Certain features (such as text recognition in images) cost me money every time you use them. If I see extremely high usage of these features from a particular user, I may choose to throttle their usage.

Consent to Share Consumption Data with Apple

By using our app and making in-app purchases, you consent to our sharing of data regarding your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple, as part of our efforts to resolve refund requests. This information may include details about how you have accessed and interacted with the purchased content. The purpose of sharing this data is to help Apple make an informed decision regarding refund requests. We ensure that such data sharing is done in compliance with Apple's policies and only as necessary to process your requests.
